UNTITLED - December 16, 2007 - Acrylic on Canvas

A relatively painless experiment this go around. Gold and Cadmium Red are the primary colours here. A spritz was applied to the top quarter first before the red was applied. This made vertical runnings a lot heavier, bolder. Once dry a spritz was applied to the remaining 3/4 and the gold was applied. The gold dried and then another layer of spritz and cadmium red was applied.

UNTITLED - December 8, 2007 - Acrylic on Canvas

Originally this piece was several inches wider on each side. Both wings appeared to be margins containing random multi-coloured geometric shapes. Those aspects had to be removed near the completion of the piece due to an irreparable error in one of the shapes. Red Oxide and Raw Umber were used to create vertical one inch borders to obscure the wings that were cut away.
